Following is the jar ḥ recorded by al-Mizz ī about M ū s ā ibn ‘Ubaydah (d. 152 AH): according to A ḥ mad ibn Ḥ anbal, he is munkar al- ḥ ad ī th and that his narratives have not the slightest weight before him; Ya ḥ y ā ibn Ma‘ ī n says l ā yu ḥ tajju bi ḥ ad ī thih ī , ḍ a‘ ī f and laysa bi shay’ ; ‘Al ī ibn Mad ī n ī regards him to be ḍ a‘ ī f al- ḥ ad ī th ; Ab ū Zur‘ah says that he is laysa bi qaw ī al- ḥ ad ī th ; Ab ū Ḥā tim regards him to be munkar al- ḥ ad ī th ; al-Tirmidh ī and al- Nas ā ’ ī also regard him to be ḍ a‘ ī f ; at another instance the latter says that he is laysa bi thiqah ; Ibn Sa‘d says that he is thiqah kath ī r al- ḥ ad ī th wa laysa bi ḥ ujjah ; Ya ‘q ū b ibn Shaybag says that he is ḍ a‘ ī f al- ḥ ad ī th jidda ṇ and among whose narratives should not be adduced from because of his weakness and weak memory; Ibn ‘Ad ī says that
