41 Monthly Renaissance November 2022 Ḥ ad ī th Studies Narrative on Reward of Qur’an Reading Dr Shehzad Saleem i. ‘Awf ibn M ā lik (rta) ﺣﺪﺛﻨﺎزﻳﺪﺑﻦﺣﺒﺎبﻋﻦﻣﻮ;:ﺑﻦﻋﺒﻴﺪةﻗﺎلﺣﺪﺛﻨﺎﻣﺤﻤﺪﺑﻦﻛﻌﺐﻋﻦﻋﻮف ﻓﺎ ﻣﻦ CÃ أ CR ﻋﻠﻴﻪ وﺳﻠﻢ ﻣﻦ ef ﷲ KL ﺻ ef ﻗﺎل ﻗﺎل رﺳﻮل ﷲ MÊ ٰٰﺑﻦ ﻣﺎﻟﻚ ﻵﻻﺷﺠ ﻟ ef ﻛﺘﺐ ﷲ ef ٰٰﻛﺘﺎب ﷲ وفﻣﻘﻄﻌﺔﻋﻦ C· ﻪﺣﺴﻨﺔ ﻵﻹ أﻗﻮل ﻟﻢ ذﻟﻚ ﻟﻜﺘﺎبوﻟﻜﻦ ﻟ ﻵﻻﻟﻒو ﻟﻶﻹمو ﻟﻤﻴﻢ ‘Awf ibn M ā lik state that God’s Messenger said: “He who read one letter of the Qur’ ā n, God will right one good deed for him in his account. I am not referring to words ﻟﻢ ذﻟﻚ ﻟﻜﺘﺎب ; in fact I am referring to each letter separately like ﻵﻻﻟﻒ و ﻟﻶﻹمو ﻟﻤﻴﻢ .” 1 Following is the schematic illustration of the isn ā d of this narrative’s variants: 1.
