Qur’ ā nic Exegesis 9 Monthly Renaissance November 2021 iii. Arguments in favour of this Book are found in the scriptures of the previous prophets also, and the scholars of the People of the Book are aware of these arguments. iv. The Book warns and admonishes the disbelievers in order to fully inform them before calling them to account so that those who are adamant on its denial deeply comprehend the consequences. v. It is extreme foolishness to regard this Book to be inspired by the jinn or the devils. The traits of people who receive inspiration of devils are depicted. vi. The Qur’ ā n is not the work of a poet. It is the work of God. Certain parameters which distinguish the Qur’ ā n from poetry and prophets from poets are referred to. ـــــــــــــــــــــــــ Section I: Verses (1-9) ﺑﺴۡﻢ ﷲ-ٰ, ﻟﺮﺣۡﻤٰﻦ ۡ ﻟﺮﺣﻴ ﻢ ﻃٰﺴٓﻢٓ ﴿ ١﴾ ﺗﻠۡﻚ ٰﻳٰﺖ ﻟۡﻜﺘٰﺐ ﻟۡﻤﺒ(ۡ'﴿ ٢﴾ ﻟﻌﻠﻚﺑﺎﺧﻊٌ @ﻔۡﺴﻚ ﻵﻹﻳﻜﻮۡﻧﻮۡ ﻣﺆۡﻣﻨ(ۡ'﴿ ٣﴾ نۡ ﻧﺸﺎۡ لۡ ﻋﻠﻴۡﻬﻢۡ ﻣﻦ ﻟﺴﻤﺂء ٰﻳﺔً ﻓﻈﻠﺖۡ ﻋۡﻨﺎﻗﻬﻢۡ ﻟﻬﺎﺧٰﻀﻌ(ۡ'﴿ NO ﻧ ٤ ﴾وﻣﺎﻳﺎۡﺗﻴۡﻬﻢۡ ﻣﻦۡ ٍ ﻣﻦ RۡS ذ ﻟﺮ ﺣۡﻤٰﻦ ﻣﺤۡﺪثٍ ﻵﻹ ﺎﻧﻮۡ ﻋﻨۡﻪ ﴿ ﻣﻌۡﺮﺿ(ۡ' ٥ ﺆ ﻣﺎ Z ﴾ﻓﻘﺪۡ ﻛﺬﺑﻮۡ ﻓﺴﻴﺎۡﺗﻴۡﻬﻢۡ ﻧ [ ﺒ ﺎﻧﻮۡ ﺑﻪٖ ﻳﺴۡﺘﻬۡﺰءوۡن﴿ ٦ % ﻵۡﻹرۡضﻛﻢۡ ﻧ [ ﺒﺘۡﻨﺎﻓﻴۡﻬﺎ b ۡ ﴾ وﻟﻢۡ ﻳﺮو ﻳۡﻢٍ ﴿ RS ٍ ﻣﻦۡ ﻞ زوۡج ٧﴾ ن ۡ%& ۡ ﻫﻢۡ ﻣﺆۡﻣﻨ(ۡ'﴿ ذٰﻟﻚﻵﻹٰﻳﺔً وﻣﺎ ﺎن ٨﴾ و ن رﺑﻚ ﻟﻬﻮ ﻟۡﻌﺰﻳۡﺰ ﻟﺮﺣﻴۡﻢ﴿ ٩﴾ In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Ever-Merciful. This is S ū rah Ṭā S ī n M ī m. These are the verses of the clear Book. Perhaps you will take your life because of the grief that these people are not accepting faith. If We want, We can send down a sign to them from the heavens; thus their necks will remain bent before it. And whatever fresh reminder comes to them from the Most Merciful God, they only keep evading it. So, they rejected it; then the warnings of that thing which they are making fun of will soon appear before them. (1-6) Have they not seen the earth? We have sprouted from it an assortment of so many beneficial things in abundance. Indeed, there is a great sign in it; but most of them have not believed in it. And indeed your Lord is powerful also and very affectionate too. (7-9)
