And if you find no one in the house, do not enter until permission is granted to you. And if you are asked to go back, go back, for this is purer for you. And God is aware of what you do. There is nothing wrong if however you enter non-residential places in which there is some benefit for you. And God knows what you reveal and what you conceal. [O Prophet!] Tell believing men to restrain their gaze and guard the ir pri vate parts [if there are women present in these houses]. That is purer for them. And God has knowled ge of what you do. And tell the believing women to res train their gaze and to guard their private parts and to display from among their ornaments only those [that are worn on limbs] which are normally revealed and to draw their coverings over their bosoms. And they shoul not reveal their ornaments to anyone except their husbands or their fathers or their husbands’ fathers or their sons or their husbands’ sons or their brothers or their brothers’ sons or their sisters’ sons or other women of acquaintance or their slaves or the subservient male servants who are not attracted to women or children who have no awareness of the hidden aspects of women. And they should not walk by stamping their feet on the ground in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And believers turn you all to God that you may succeed.
